Help Janet Make a Difference
Hi, I’m Janet, a current volunteer with Nurture Project International in
Thessaloniki, Greece. I have worked for the well-being of children and
families in many different capacities for over 20 years, and am currently
working on my Ph.D in Human Development and Family Studies, with an
interest in programs that support positive outcomes for refugee families
who have experienced unimaginable trauma throughout the current crisis.
Right now in Greece, the situation in the camps is deteriorating, with
winter on the way and cold, rainy weather already upon us. Thousands of
the refugees currently living in the camps are pregnant women. Despite the
incredible need, a loss of funding and media interest has made it
increasingly difficult for many NGOs, including NPI, to financially sustain
the many activities that refugee families have come to rely upon.
NPI not only provides expert breastfeeding support, supplemental nutrition
and vitamins, prenatal/postpartum health care, and supplies for infant
care, but also offers vital and passionate advocacy for the rights of
refugee mothers and children, including during labor and delivery.
We need you to join us – please help in any way you can, at any level you can.
It WILL make a difference.
