Urgent Campaign: We Need Diapers
Imagine you are a mother living in a refugee camp with your 4 month old baby. The camp that was supplying a few diapers a day has now run out of the diapers you so desperately need. Imagine you can’t afford to buy the diapers yourself. What do you do? Your child has been wearing the same soiled diaper all day. Your baby is dirty, and has been crying all day. You feel helpless.
With your help, we can ensure babies are clean in otherwise unsanitary conditions. Diaper supplies from other NGOs such as UNHCR, and the military have not been consistent. Currently, we are one of the only NGOs distributing diapers. We need your help to ensure our mothers have one less thing to worry about. NPI currently works in three military camps in Greece – Sindos, Kalachori and Elpida. Just this past month for only one camp, we purchased 9,100 diapers which cost €2533! Mothers are relying on our help to keep their babies clean.
For as little as $12 you can help cover the cost of one week’s supply of diapers for one child. Its that simple. No donation is too little.
Thank you on behalf of NPI and the countless mothers and babies you support.
We are only accepting monetary donations. Please do not send diapers. This will enable us to buy based on the diaper sizes needed. Also, buying locally helps us support the Greek economy.
